1 - Piyush Goyal leads Indian delegation to G20 Ministerial meeting in Japan
  • Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is leading the Indian delegation for the two-day G20 Ministerial meeting on Trade and Digital Economy beginning at Tsukuba city in Japan. Mr. Goyal will discuss developments in the global trade situation, WTO matters, and digital trade. He will also hold dialogue with other participating Trade Ministers on current international trade and investments.

  • . The G-20 Trade Ministers deliberations will form part of the G-20 Summit Leaders agenda in the formal discussions and will also be a part of the Summit Declaration.

2 - Jammu and Kashmir govt appoints RK Chibber as interim chief of J&K Bank

  • The Jammu and Kashmir government has removed J&K Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmad and appointed RK Chibber as interim chairman of the lender. Parvez Ahmad, Chairman cum Managing Director, shall cease to be Director on the Board of Directors of the Bank and consequently be no longer the Chairman cum Managing Director of the board.

3 -  RBI imposes Rs 2 crore penalty on Kotak Mahindra Bank

  • The RBI has slapped a penalty of Rs. 2 crores on Kotak Mahindra Bank for the non-state lender’s failure to adhere to the regulator’s diktat on promoter shareholding.The central bank has been engaged in a dispute with Kotak Mahindra since 2014 over its failure to meet the milestone for stake reduction by Uday Kotak, the billionaire promoter of the bank.

4 – Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government on Saturday notified a decision to extend the benefit of Rs 6,000 per year under the PM-KISAN scheme to all 14.5 crore farmers in the country, irrespective of the size of their landholding. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Siddhi will cost over Rs 87,000 crore a year to the exchequer.
  • The genesis of the PM-KISAN Yojana dates back to the interim Budget for the year 2019-2020, in which the Central government announced to provide Rs 6,000 per year, in three 4-monthly instalments of Rs 2000 each over the year, to an estimated 12.5 crore small and marginal farmers holding land up to 2 hectares.

5 - Government Institutes First Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman

  • Minister for Information and Broadcasting  Prakash Javadekar  said that the practice and propagation of Yoga has led to “Healthy life, Healthy living, Wellness  and Prevention of Disease”. 
  • Yoga is one of  India’s gifts to the world and has become the mantra of New India Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Yoga has been universally acknowledged by the United Nations and is now practiced globally around  200 countries on 21st June every year. 
  • The Ministry ofI&Bhasinstitutedthe First Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman (AYDMS) from this year to mark the contribution of media in spreading the message of Yoga. 

6 - Bancha, the first solar kitchen only village in India.

  • Bancha in Betul district is the first village in India to have zero wooden stoves and almost no use for LPG cylinders with all its 75 houses relying on solar-powered stoves to meet their cooking needs.
  • The project of installing solar power plates, batteries and stoves in all the 74 houses was started in September 2017 and got completed by December 2018.

7 - RBI scraped NEFT, RTGS transaction charges, banks to pass on benefits.
  • The RBI removed transaction charges levied by it for Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) and National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) systems to boost digital transactions.
  • The Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) is meant for large-value instantaneous fund transfers while the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) System is used for fund transfers up to Rs 2 lakh.

8 - India’s first Dinosaur Museum inaugurated in Gujarat.
  • Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani inaugurated the new Dinosaur Museum-cum-Park at Raiyoli village in Balasinor town of Mahisagar district.
  • This is the first such park in the country and also the world’s third park which exhibits remains of various dinosaurs and fossil records.

1 - Maldives confers country's highest  honour on PM Narendra  Modi.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Maldives' highest honour "Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen" on Saturday during his two-day state visit to the country.
  • "The Most Honourable Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen" is the Maldives' highest honour accorded to foreign dignitaries,
